I love this! I was just thinking how much I love my laugh lines. I love them on other people, too. When a smile or a laugh changes the landscape of someone’s face, I think it’s beautiful. Like you selecting jeans that fit your body, I think it’s a way to wear a life well-lived and happily undertaken.
There was a time that my wife said - don’t worry, if I don’t like these shoes daughter will wear them because we are the same shoe size. That time has passed. BTW where are all my tshirts?
What a refreshing read. ❤️ Thank you for sharing the essence of “the good life” with us. I needed the reminder to soak in what some may call, “the ordinary.”
Breanne, I loooooove this. You are such a good story teller. Yes to expensive jeans, even if it just one pair. Yes to not loving clothes shopping (unless it's op shopping). Yes to pretty pictures and yum pastry and watching your kids grow tall! And why are squishmellows a whole thing? I do not know. Really enjoyed reading this 💛
Shopping is the worst and I’m so glad skinny jeans are no longer in fashion. I may have to look into Madewell for my next pair. Also, thanks for sharing your experience with watching your kids grow. Mine son just turned 8 yesterday and I can’t believe it.
Madewell hasn't failed me yet. I've only found a pair once when thrifting that fit me. They really hold their value! And isn't it crazy to go from having a baby and then all of the sudden they are a whole child?!
Great choice of jeans! I finally found some non-skinny jeans at Abercrombie that worked for me last year and it has been revelatory to not feel like a stuffed sausage and be constantly half-aware of my legs, my clothes, my body. I still pull out the skinnies periodically but it is rarer and rarer. This was a beautiful piece. Thank you for sharing!
I know your clothes journey has been rough. So glad you found good jeans! An investment on something you will absolutely wear is better than a bunch of stuff you won’t! Enjoy those jeans.
And thanks for the reminder of what a good day can look like.
I really try not to spend much on clothes but when its something that I'm going to wear so much I'm usually ok with investing. Thanks for your kind words!
I love these glimpses into the beauty that is your regular life- your writing always makes me want to slow down and appreciate my own “ordinary days”. 💕 Also, I’d love to know what’s on your “old music” playlist, ha! 😉
Finding good jeans is SO hard. It took me years. 🫠 I tried thrifting, buying cheap ones, buying online. I finally just had to go to Madewell and invest in a good pair. They haven't failed me yet!
It’s funny you say that because I’ve been thinking that driving 30 min to our closest Madewell might be my next step 😂 Glad to know it worked for you!!

I need the reminder all the time. That's why I write these kinds of posts. ❤️

Thanks for this comment, Kym! It was so encouraging. I don't know why squishmallows are a thing either 😂

I still think skinnies have their place! Especially in winter when everything is more slushy and wet. But I'm also so happy with these!

So glad you enjoyed the post, Katherine! Our "oldies" playlist has a lot of Coldplay, Lumineers, Switchfoot, The Killers and Fall Out Boy on it. 😂
This was such a delight to read. And your denim success inspires me! I’m still on the hunt! Haha
