The couch is just beautiful!! I was so thoroughly invested in this couch saga—what a story! And I especially love that you bought it with "words you wrote on the internet." So cool.
So so happy for you and proud that my little subscription helped towards answered prayers!! I need the reminder that sometimes God does give us unicorns
I love every minute of this adventure! (Actual Couches hahahahahaha) Congratulations you word wielder, swelling with so much pride and celebration with and for you from here.
This is absolutely wonderful! Congratulations, Breanne!!! This beautiful and moving story made my day, and I'm so excited for you, your family, and your Unicouch! (Yes, Nicole, I think your name ought to stick!!)
Enthralling. The whole way through. I love this. I'm so pleased for you. Also many many lols to the bite sized theology lessons tossed out into the kid ether... like you, I believe they do stick, unexpectedly and with a good helping of humor and playful self deprication aimed at myself each time. And I secretly wish I could behave like kids do in stores...... I'm so glad you found your unicorn. An I'm glad I'm here to be here for both substacks.
This couches are so tempting to jump on 😂 But alas, we must show decorum. Glad you enjoyed this post! It's a fun family story I'm glad I took the time to write down.
I love this. I hope your kids remember the story of The Couch for a long time :) Funny how this comes just as I've had to pause my subscription to you (I think I may have been one of your first subscribers!) for a time in order to shuffle some things around (budgets sometimes are like fitting that sectional into your house, haha!). But I'm proud to have been able to support you in this small way, and I will continue to cheer you on from this space whenever I am able!
Thank you, Kristi! I completely understand the need to shuffle things around budget wise. And I've also went ahead and comped you a year's paid subscription for free. Thanks for always being so intentional and supportive!
Congrats on two years of writing here on Substack, Breanne!
Wonderful that in addition to serving its primary purpose as a sofa, you can be reminded of God's provision and the rewards of your own hard work every time you sit on it!
I loved this story so much! Congrats on 2 years! You're giving me inspiration to come back to write and publish on my own Substack, that I accidentally took a break from for over a year.
Nothing wrong with a break (even an accidental one!). But I hope you come back and keep writing here. I'm tell all the writers I know about Substack. It's been a great home for so many and I'm grateful for it.
That’s awesome! It’s so neat to hear other writers on here hit a goal like what I’ve had in mind for years (I’ve never wanted my writing income to replace my husband’s, but I’ve always said I’d love to be able to contribute to bigger purchases around the house.)
Also, I feel you on the couch hunt. Ughhh! We did that earlier this year. My husband loves building things so eventually we decided to have a go at building our own couch… we’ll see how that turns out…
Keep going! One thing I didn't share here was how I wrote publicly for nearly a decade and didn't make a dime off of that. Being a writer isn't an easy vocation but I'm cheering you on from here! I hope your couch-build works out beautifully ❤️
Thank you for writing this. I'm not at the point where I feel comfortable charging people for my writing, I'm still struggling to grow my following. But this gives me hope that with time, I will grow 😊

I LOVE this couch. And I have a history with a unicorn couch too, so I get it!

Thank you, Josh. I've definitely been doing that this week. I'm so grateful for how it all worked out!
So awesome! Proud to have been part of this unicorn couch purchase. Congratulations!
Thank you so much, Tiffany!

Congratulations on both your two year Substack anniversary and your new sofa! 🦄🤗🩷
Thank you so much, Mackenzie!
This made me smile so big.
Love knowing that. Once your kid runs across a couch at the store, you have to bring it home. That's the rules. 😂
